At the age of 23, Alberto "Way" Zapata, a single-handed motocross driver, lost his life during a race on Sunday. The young driver lost control of his engine, fell to the ground and found himself on the wheels of two other drivers.
Footage from the moment of his fall recorded the accident, he falling and the next drivers trying to avoid him, during the race, in Argentina.
"I am devastated by the sad news of Wey Zapata's death, I mourn his family and friends," said Sergio Unac, governor of San Juan County, home of the 23-year-old, according to the Sun. "Rest in peace, warrior. "In San Juan we will remember you as a great athlete and a great fighter."
The fatal fall of the 23-year-old happened less than five months after he faked death, coming out alive from the crash of his car on a road in San Juan. The accident resulted in the amputation of his left hand.
