A young woman of Syrian origin was transported fatally injured to Paphos Hospital where she died, having been stabbed by her husband, according to police information.

The tragic incident happened in the house where the family of the foreigners lives, in the area of ​​the Paphos Technical School, for reasons that are being examined by the Police. The victim, 31 years old, was found in her bed stabbed with serious injuries in various parts of her body. The young woman, who according to the information has many children, was transported to Paphos Hospital, where, despite the efforts of the doctors, she left her last breath a few hours later.

For the murder of the foreign woman, the Police secured an arrest warrant for her 40-year-old estranged husband, also of Arab origin, who is also wanted. According to the first information, the woman's husband had been repeatedly reported in the past for incidents of domestic violence, while a court order had been issued for not approaching him at the wife's residence. So far this person has not been identified.

The tragic incident was reported to the Police by locals, who realized that something serious was happening from the voices heard from the residence of the unfortunate woman. A medical examiner was also called to the scene, who is currently conducting an autopsy.

It is noted that the family was under the supervision of the Welfare Office while the unfortunate 31-year-old was found murdered by a Social Welfare Services official.
