Handcuffs on a 37-year-old for arson

A 37-year-old resident of Paphos was arrested on Sunday afternoon by members of the Paphos Police Department, in order to facilitate the investigations into an investigated car arson case.

According to an announcement by the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters, the fire in the car, which is used by a 32-year-old, broke out around 3.30 p.m. on Sunday morning, while it was parked outside the 32-year-old's house in Paphos. The fire was extinguished by members of the Fire Service, while investigations that followed revealed that the fire was set maliciously using flammable material.

Further police investigations provided evidence against the 37-year-old, on the basis of which an arrest warrant was issued against him. On Sunday afternoon, the 37-year-old was arrested and remanded in custody to facilitate interrogations.

The case is being investigated by TAE Paphos.
