The images of crowding by thousands of carnivalgoers that were observed on Sunday night (14/03) in Limassol, commented to SigmaLive the professor of Microbiology at the Medical School of the University of Nicosia, dr. Petros Karagiannis.

Among others, Dr. Karagiannis, said that last night's behavior of the citizens in Limassol can lead us to a setback.

"In about ten days the results of the crowd will be seen. We hope we will be lucky. "I imagine that if someone had symptoms they were not at the event, the symptoms could cause a problem," he said.

Asked if there is a case for further measures to be taken in Limassol, which already has a serious epidemiological picture, Dr. Karagiannis said that this is a matter for the Government. "If our opinion is asked, we will transfer it."

Finally, Dr. Karagiannis stated that "the images we saw were not the best. We said we want a few more weeks for the vaccination to proceed. I do not understand why they could not wait. "
