The Pancyprian Union of Consumers and Quality of Life calls on the EAC, even now, to acknowledge its own responsibilities and find ways to limit the huge increase in the price of electricity in the coming period, which many households will not be able to withstand.
In today's announcement, the Pancyprian Consumers' Union calls on the competent Ministry and the Minister "not to remain indifferent, because the state, which, among other things, receives dividends in the form of indirect taxation, has its own enormous responsibilities".
He expresses "disappointment and sadness", because as he states he read the announcement of the Cyprus Electricity Authority, in relation to the huge increase in the price of electricity in the next period, to note that this increase follows and is in addition to the large increase between August 2020 and August 2021, announced by the Statistical Service ".
"As shameless as the increase is, so shameless is the attempt of the announcement to justify and explain the unexplained, in relation to the reasons of the increase and why the Cypriot citizen-consumer is forced by the state monopoly to pay the most expensive "from all other EU citizens," the Pancyprian Consumers' Union said in a statement.
