Five EAC poles were cut down by unknown persons, who detached their overhead cables, in the province of Limassol.

According to the Police, at noon on Wednesday, an assistant foreman reported to the Lania police station that, following information, he went to a location in the village of Agios Mamas, where he found that five poles of the Authority had been cut and the overhead cables were missing.

The scene was visited by the officer in charge and members of the police station, while examinations revealed that the stakes had been violently cut off and a 900 meter long overhead cable was stolen. Members of the TAE Limassol were also called to take fingerprints and documents, for scientific examinations, while the scene was photographed.

Based on estimates, the value of the five stakes amounts to 2092 euros, while the value of the stolen cables is 4140 euros.

According to the complainant, the malicious damage to the piles and the theft of the cables possibly took place between January 15 and 17, without being able to determine the exact date and time of the commission of the offenses, since the lines in question only supply electricity to an isolated irrigation water pump .

The examinations continue from the Lania police station.
