An extrajudicial fine of 12.447 euros was issued against a hunter for using illegal means of catching prey, illegally possessing wire ropes, illegally possessing prey without a hunting license and illegally possessing protected birds whose hunting is prohibited.

According to the Police, yesterday at 21:10 in the area of ​​Rouskies, territory of the Municipality of Pegeia, members of the Thera Service located a resident of a village in the province of Paphos who owns and uses wire loops that are illegal means of catching prey.

Subsequently, during a search of his residence and premises, he was found to be in possession of prey without a hunting license, ie 15 fins and protected birds, six small birds, the hunting of which is prohibited.

An extrajudicial fine totaling 12.447 euros was issued against him.

The Pegeia police station in cooperation with the Thera Service is investigating the case.
