The appointment of the members of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Youth Organization (ONEK) is as follows: President Kleanthis Koutsoftas, Vice President Chrysovalantia Polykarpou and members Michalis Iliodorou, Michalis Katsouris, Chrysostomos Panagi, George Hatzigeorgiou and Konstantihos Konstantichos.

  • The approval of the De Minimis Aid Payment Plan for Support of the printed Mass Media and Agencies. The budgeted expenditure amounts to 300.000 euros.
  • The renewal of the deadline for granting the five-day honorary leave to those national guards who have been vaccinated or will be vaccinated until 31 Dec. 2021. The granting of a 24-hour leave on the days of vaccination, ..
  • The conclusion of the Loan Agreement amounting to 65,5 million euros between the Council of Europe Development Bank (TASE) and the Republic of Cyprus. The loan amount will be used to support the strategic goals in the field of education, as defined in the strategic plan of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth 2020, ensuring the continuation of ongoing investment projects aimed at developing and upgrading school infrastructure in pre-university education levels.
  • The initial licensing of the Private University under the name "American University of Cyprus (AUCY)" for a period of five years. Following today's decision, the university may start operating this academic year.
  • The approval of New Subsidized Employment Plans amounting to 10.4 million. The plans concern: 1. Providing incentives for hiring people with disabilities (2cm) 2. Providing incentives for hiring people with chronic diseases (2cm) 3. Providing incentives for hiring unemployed (4cm) 4 Providing incentives for the recruitment of young people aged 15-29 who are out of employment in education or training (2.5cm). Details will be announced at a press conference to be given by the Minister of Labor in October.

In addition, the Council of Ministers was informed by a note from the Ministry of Interior regarding the provision of financial assistance to the fire victims in the mountainous areas of Larnaca and Limassol. It was found that the examination of all applications submitted in both provinces has been completed.

Regarding the implementation of measures to support, compensate and reactivate the affected farmers, the Ministry of Agriculture informed that an amount of more than 1.427.000 euros has already been paid to 85 professional farmers.

The recording of the losses for all the applications has also been completed and all the affected farmers have been informed about the plans of the Department of Agriculture and the measures of the Agricultural Payments Organization aimed at compensating their losses.
