CYPRUS: 4 new deaths and 2.200 cases announced by the Ministry. Health

168 hospitalized of which 43 in serious condition

The Ministry of Health announces that today, February 17 2022:

- They were announced 4 deaths

- Relate to:

  • Woman, aged 67-year-old, which ended on 16 February
  • Man, aged 63-year-old, which ended on 17 February
  • Man, aged 89-year-old, which ended on 17 February
  • Man, aged 93-year-old, which ended on 17 February

- Total number of deaths with final cause of the disease COVID-19: 802.

-       168 patients COVID-19 are hospitalized in OKYPY hospitals

-       43 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of ventilator / 12 intubated, MAF: 31)

- Percentage of patients without a history of vaccination: 66,08%

-       29 Patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be treated intubated for COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic examinations:

- They took place in total 99.502 diagnostic examinations

- They were located 2.200 new cases (set of cases 300.435).

- Position rate in all exams 2,21%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

- They took place 7.389 molecular tests

- They emerged 311positive incidents

- Position of positivity 4,21%

-       Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (fastTest):

- They were carried out 92.113 rapid antigen detection tests

- They emerged 1.889 positive incidents

- Position of positivity 2,05%

Tracking:

- They were carried out 255 molecular tests and were detected 22 positive events (percentage of positivity 8,63%)

- They were carried out 928 rapid antigen detection tests and detected  74 positive events (percentage of positivity 7,97%)

Private initiative:

- They were carried out 1.880 molecular tests were identified 208 positive events (percentage of positivity 11,06%)

- They were carried out 44.060 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 1.157 positive events (percentage of positivity 2,63%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health were carried out 48.053 rapid antigen detection test. They were located 732 positive incidents.

- Sampling points: 18.367 rapid detection tests were detected 516 positive events (percentage of positivity 2,81%)

Education

- Primary Education: 20.490 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 74 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,36%)

- Secondary Education: 2.196 rapid detection tests were detected  12 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,55%)

- Test-to-Stay: performed 3.035 rapid antigen detection tests and detected 34 positive events (percentage of positivity 1,12%)

- Special Schools: conducted 488 rapid antigen detection tests and detected  3 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,61%)

Other

- Nursing homes: conducted 1.049 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 12 positive events (percentage of positivity 1,14%)

- Closed structures: carried out 248 rapid antigen detection tests were detected new incidents (percentage of positivity 0,81%).

- Government Services: performed 1.252 rapid antigen detection tests and detected  5 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,40%)
