The Attorney General and the Assistant Attorney General gave instructions to the Police to carefully study all the information contained in the new report of the Al Jazeera news network and to start investigations on all issues concerning Cyprus.
Answering a question from KYPE for the new report of Al Jazeera, which was published on Monday and which reveals how football, in this case English, is used for money laundering, again involving Cyprus and the already abolished Cyprus Investment Program (KEP), Police Spokesman Christos Andreou said that both before the video was released, the Assistant Attorney General and after its release, the Attorney General, contacted the Chief of Police and instructed investigators, carefully study all the information contained in it and start research on all issues concerning Cyprus.
Regarding the investigation of the remaining cases, Mr. Andreou said that the investigations in relation to the first video of Al Jazeera are at an advanced stage and there is a continuous consultation with the Legal Service.
"Even the investigations in relation to the report of the Kalogiros Committee are at an advanced stage and cases are being raised from the report of the Nikolatos Committee", he added.
Mr. Andreou reminded, finally, that the investigative team investigating such cases has been strengthened for some time to respond to the large volume of work resulting from these cases.
