PASYKI and the Department of Doctors and Clinical Directors PASYDY are on a three-hour work stoppage today from 08:00 to 11:00, in public hospitals and health centers.

According to their statement, "the absence, authoritarianism, disrespect and insults to the trade unions by the OKYPY can no longer be tolerated", and the medical community of public hospitals can not continue with the situation in which they have come.

PASYKI and the Department of Doctors and Clinical Directors of PASYDY had a meeting yesterday with the Minister of Health in order to discuss the announcement of the strike measures in the Public Hospitals. Despite the "highly productive dialogue" that resulted in agreed-upon lines of joint action, the strike measures were not revoked, as announced.

The unions welcomed the involvement of the Ministry of Health and expressed the hope that the subsequent agreed dialogue, with the active participation of the Ministry will yield the long-awaited for hospitals and patients and will avoid further escalation of reaction measures.
