At 106% of the normal rainfall from October 1 (beginning of the hydrological year) is the rainfall in the free areas, according to preliminary data published by the Department of Meteorology.
Based on the data, the total rainfall reached 312 mm, compared to the normal (data 1960 -1990) which is 294 mm.
It is noted that the last 24 hours did not give any rain in the free areas (until 08:00 this morning). The total average price for the month is at 77,3 mm, which corresponds to 75% of the normal for the month of January.
Based on the data so far this morning, the stations that exceeded 100% of the normal rainfall from January 1 are Athienou with 124% and Kornos with 114%, while in Nicosia (Athalassa station) the recorded rainfall reached 49% of normal.
