The possibility of new relaxations was commented at noon by the epidemiologist, Dr. Michalis Voniatis.
Specifically, when asked if the conditions are conducive to the relaxation of the measures, he replied that "this has been discussed in the Scientific Advisory Committee and we had come to the conclusion that it was too early to relax based on the data at that time. "The data we have now may allow us to proceed with some relaxations next week and maybe not immediately but after a few days."
He revealed that there is a possibility that the restaurants will open for the unvaccinated, but details have not been discussed yet.
He also cited evidence to explain that the vaccination program in Cyprus has protected many people. According to the data cited, the unvaccinated are the ones who are most infected. In fact, someone who has not been vaccinated is about 20 times more likely to become infected.
