Larger and lighter than the existing one will be the new generation of Mercedes E-Class that will premiere in 2015, while it will be equipped with a wide range of engines with the AMG version to bring the 4 liter V8 with up to 510 horses.
The "footprints" of the smaller C-Class seem to be followed by the new Mercedes E-Class, the big limousine of the German brand, as our information states that it will step on the same rear-wheel drive platform as the middle limousine, the new MRA, while the new E-Class will be even more imposing than the current generation and with larger dimensions. In addition, from the spy, exclusive, electronically processed photos that we obtained, we find that the new luxury E-Class has all-led headlights, dynamic bumpers, but also the characteristic Mercedes grille, with the star on the hood. At the same time, we see at the rear that the columns "fall" less vertically - compared to the past - on the trunk, to give a sense of 4-door coupe models.
Regarding the mechanical units of the new E-Class now, the new model will have a 6-cylinder engine with in-line arrangement (and not in V-arrangement). This is how we will see the twin turbo 6-cylinder engine producing 367-435 hp. In addition, the new 2,9 liter diesel engine with 313-400 hp will most likely be included in the options. Also, at the top of the range - in the AMG version (its exact name has not been finalized yet) - there will be the new V8 4,0 lt. which comes from the Mercedes-AMG GT & Mercedes-AMG C63 and produces up to 510 hp. At the same time, the new Mercedes E-Class is expected in a plug-in hybrid version, with the hybrid system including a 2-liter diesel 4-cylinder engine of 211 hp and an electric motor of 122 hp. As for the transmission, the new generation of E-Class will also have the new 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission.
Finally, the debut of the new Mercedes E-Class is expected to take place at the end of 2015 in one of the official Car Showrooms, so that in early 2016 the new big German model will be launched in the markets.
