With the testimony of Panagiotis Kallitsionis, bodyguard of Theofanis Theofanous otherwise Kalopsidiotis, continued today before the Permanent Criminal Court of Larnaca - Famagusta, the hearing on the case of the quadruple murder of Agia Nalma Oata in 23, which took place on the night of the 2016rd.

During the attack on The Stone Garden restaurant, Theofanis Theofanous, Kalopsidiotis, the couple Elias and Skevis Hatziefthimiou and Yani Vogli, one of the perpetrators of the murder, were killed.

Today's trial began with an interview given by the security guard and injured in the attack, Panagiotis Kallitsionis, also known as Valentinos, on a private TV channel in September 2016, where, among other things, he referred to the events of the controversial night.

He specifically stated that in the restaurant he was sitting at a table with the accused, Serbian Loy Dejan, while at another table sat Theofanis Theofanous, the couple Elias and Skevis Hatziefthymiou with their two minor children and George Charalambous.

He added that as soon as they finished eating, he was hit by one of the three mobile phones that the Serb had and after urging him to answer, he told him that he did not know the number and did not want to answer the call.

Finally he answered and according to Kallitsionis, he said "yes, I am here, ok". When the witness asked to know who he was, Dejan replied to a girl, but he did not believe him. A message followed on his cell phone, said Kallitsionis, I saw him trying to do something in the bag he had on his leg and then he told him that he would go to the toilet.

He noted that 7-8 minutes after Dejan went to the toilet, from a dark passage to his left as he was sitting, leading to a parking lot, “I saw shadows that piqued my curiosity. I saw a tall man holding a gun looking down and as soon as I saw him I got up to go towards him but the perpetrator shot me.

Then I saw another man with a Kalashnikov and he started throwing, while I tried to escape from the bullets by crawling. The bullets rained down, everyone panicked, I saw Fanos, Elias and Skevi fall and George Charalambous grabbed the two children. I tried to go to the back of the building, but I kept hearing the bullets falling. "

As Panagiotis Kallitsionis stated in his interview, the images that came to his mind from the attack were "the panic and terror I saw in the eyes of everyone and the corpses of my friends", noting that "it was a massacre as if it were a terrorist attack" . According to the witness, first one of the perpetrators appeared and started firing with the pistol and then the second one entered with a Kalashnikov, noting that "it was a shot at gunpoint, the bullets were not aimed, the perpetrators were walking and throwing their weapons".

He added that "no one believed that such a thing would happen to a woman and two children. The executors were professionals, as individuals they had no soul in them and were ruthless. They were not human when they killed two parents in front of their children, "he said.

This was followed by a reading by the prosecution witness of the statements he gave to the Police on 23, 26 and 27 June and 7 July 2016, in which he referred “to three perpetrators, one of whom was black, while the other was seen in Ayia Napa, body and fit ”and everyone was wearing hoods. I'm sure there were three perpetrators, one with a pistol and the other two with Kalashnikovs, "he said.

However, he later recalled saying that the perpetrators were two, one was not black and referred to a misconception he had about the events due to his injury.

Asked by the representative of the Prosecuting Authority Elli Papagapiou about the Serbian bodyguard of Kalopsidiotis, Panagiotis Kallitsionis stated that he answered one of the three phones he had in front of everyone, while when the other two were beaten he left to answer, which he did not like. He also mentioned it several times to Fanos Theofanous, asking him to remove him. However, Fanos noted, "Don't misunderstand those who grew up in these countries, that's right."

He added that he wondered how a person who came to Cyprus and had no acquaintances would change his mobile phone cards, walk away to talk, several times for no reason and did not trust him. He also said that he was a security guard of Fanos Kalopsidiotis but did not carry a weapon and added that he knew from Fanos who he was in danger from, while he knew about cars that were suspicious.

In other questions of Mrs. Papagapiou testified that after the shooting, when he went to the restaurant, "I saw Dejan talking loudly on the phone. He turned to me, saw that I was injured, as I was walking and holding my right side, he looked at me sternly, did not ask me if I was well or if I needed help, and from the look he gave me I realized that he was not happy that I was alive. "

In his statement dated 27/6/2016, Panagiotis Kallitsionis stated that he was one thousand percent sure that on the fateful night the executors were three, that the perpetrator was at a distance of 6 -7 meters when he was shot and that he did not report any names to the Police. people from whom Fanos Theofanous was in danger since, as he said, "I did not trust the authorities because I was sure that information would leak out."

Responding to questions from the Prosecuting Authority, the witness said that Fanos Kalopsidiotis had repeatedly told him "to be careful because we are in danger from Panagiotis Pentavkas (accused)", referring to an incident that took place between Kalopsidiotis and Pentavkas after his first beating secondly, he noted that "Fanos called Pentavkas a fool" and that "Fanos told Pentavkas that the next time something like this happens, you will have a big problem".

Panagiotis Dimitriou, a defense attorney for Panagiotis Pentavkas, described the witness as "sketchy and humiliating the scenario" he reported to the Court, with Kallitsionis replying that "I came to the Court to tell the truth and only the truth. I believe everything I said. "

Addressing the witness, the lawyer noted that "today you told us a tale that can't stand any logic, a bad-written tale that you sold us today" and called on him to state whether everything he said was submitted to him by the Police.

The witness replied that "what I said in court is not a fairy tale and in no case did the Police submit anything to me."

The hearing continued with the examination of the witness by Loizos Neophytou, Loy Dejan's defense attorney. Answering questions from Mr. Neophytos, Panagiotis Kallitsionis confirmed that before the attack he saw the accused Loy Dejan answering only once on his mobile phone, while he heard the sound of a single message.

The process was stopped to continue with the examination of Panagiotis Kallitsionis on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
