The unprecedented record for the Greek data of completing three years without terrorist act (bombing or murder) is being recorded these days.
This is a record since even after the dismantling of the 17N and the ELA in 2002, there were bombings and bloody attacks in constant efforts to revive the "guerrilla city" while in the 80s and 90s the annual number of actions exceeded several times 60-80 per year.
Even the "Conspiracy of the Nuclei of Fire" in four years proceeded with more than 250 incendiary and bombing attacks. In the period 2009-2010, at least 50 serious armed attacks were recorded. With EL.AS executives stating that most of the armed organizations that operated in recent years (such as "Revolutionary Struggle", "Popular Will", "Conspiracy of the Nuclei of Fire", "Sect of Revolutionaries", "Group of Popular Fighters-ALL" , "Revolutionary Self-Defense" and others that are considered a creation of cooperation between criminals and anti-authoritarians have been dismantled or inactivated and most of their members are either in prison or under police surveillance.
Adding to that the fact that many of those who led the bombings, mainly with bomb packages and have been released, are now involved in private companies (bars, restaurants, workshops, etc.) and do not seem to have any obvious tendency to reactivate in armed action. .
However, EL.AS executives express fears that perhaps this "silence" of Greek terrorism is misleading and there may be a surprise attack by a new strike team. At the same time, they express concerns about the forthcoming release of former members of the "Revolutionary Struggle" and other militants who seem to remain adamant in their "beliefs".
The relationship with organized crime
It is of particular interest to the police to monitor, among other things, bank robberies to see if some of them may be related to efforts to finance a new organization and to strengthen the so-called "revolutionary fund". A big request is to identify the movements of the wanted person from 2009 Vassilis Paleokostas of which many collaborators are considered to have participated in the creation of new armed organizations but also in the so-called "robbers of Distomo" who acted in the period 2011-2016 with the participation of criminals and anti-authoritarians.
The latest attacks
The last two attacks that have taken place in our country were at dawn on Monday, December 17, 2018 with the strong explosion of a bomb on the TV station SKAI by the "Group of Popular Fighters" but also the activation of a nail bomb in the church of Agios Dionysios in Kolonaki, on December 27, 2018, which was then undertaken by the organization "Iconoclastic Sect", which is considered a Greek branch of the international organization "activists" ITS ("Individualists Tendiendo a lo Salvaje"). But although these two organizations have not been "officially" disbanded, there is no relevant arrest, they have been silent for three years. Something that according to the police has happened "because the Hellenic Police was on their trail, revealed their identity. And those who know that they have been found in police custody know this… "

The attack on Kolonaki
