Two dead so far, since the number of missing persons is unknown, but also 16 rescued are the so far reports of a shipwreck in the area of Thermi in eastern Lesbos, with refugees and migrants today, Tuesday, February 7 in the morning.
Coast Guard vessels and a helicopter are currently operating in the area, while searches for any survivors are also being carried out from the shore.
The weather conditions in the area are very difficult, frost prevails with winds of six Beaufort and locally with gusts of up to eight Beaufort. Already five of the rescued were taken to the hospital with symptoms of hypothermia.
