He is a child of only 8 years old. He has COVID19 and is hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit.
8-year-old Giannis developed a fever on November 30 and due to the laboratory tests of his family -as his father had fallen ill- and himself, it was deemed necessary to transfer him to the University Hospital of Rio. The child did not suffer from underlying diseases.
As of Friday, however, his health condition had deteriorated and it was deemed necessary to transfer him to the Children's ICU of the University Hospital.
As the Director of the ICU told ERT, Andreas Iliadis, "the child was transferred to the ICU on Friday with complications from the coronavirus. It was supported with a non-invasive ventilation machine and cardiological drugs. His state of health is serious but stable. He is responding positively to the medication and I hope that in the coming days he will be better ".
His parents are always by his side and as they told ERT, Giannis "asked his brothers not to open his Christmas present".
