After a coordinated operation by the Drug Enforcement Agency, a quantity of cannabis weighing 3 kilograms and approximately 200 grams was located and seized yesterday afternoon.
Specifically, at around 5 yesterday afternoon, members of YKAN stopped in the area of Larnaca, a car driven by a 28-year-old man, with a 40-year-old passenger, both residents of Larnaca.
The 28-year-old driver tried to escape, as a result of which his car collided with a bus in front, as well as with official vehicles and then stopped.
In a subsequent search, inside the trunk of the car, two nylon packages containing a quantity of cannabis, weighing 3 kilograms and approximately 220 grams, were found.
In the possession of the 40-year-old passenger, two gas sprays and a bat were found.
Both the 28-year-old and the 40-year-old were initially arrested for outright offenses and then on warrants and taken into custody to facilitate investigations.
Today they are expected to be brought before the District Court of Larnaca, for the issuance of arrest warrants.
