The Police in Paphos arrested a 34-year-old man on Thursday for an investigated case of assault against a police officer, resisting legal arrest and illegal possession of burglary tools.

According to the Police, information was received that a person was roaming on Thursday at 09:25 on Evangelou Floraki Street in Chloraka.

A patrol of the ADE Paphos went to the scene and identified a person there, a permanent resident of Paphos, aged 34, who, as it appeared, has repeatedly engaged the Police. When members of the force tried to approach him he started running and was stopped.

He allegedly resisted and at 9:40 his arrest was successful for the offense of assaulting a police officer. He was then re-arrested for the crime of resisting lawful arrest.

A physical check carried out on him found a shoulder bag containing a number of burglary tools. He was subsequently arrested for the crime of illegal possession of burglary tools.

The 34-year-old was taken to the custody of the Paphos Police Department where he was taken into custody.
The investigations into the case continue by the Police in Paphos.
