Larnaca: The first phase of road renovation and facilitation for the disabled has been completed

The execution of this project took place in the context of the integrated Sustainable Urban Development of Larnaca, so that they become accessible to people with disabilities.

The first phase of the project for the reconstruction of streets and facilitation of the disabled in the center of Larnaca was completed, with the execution of the works in the second section of Agios Lazaros Street.

An announcement of the Municipality of Larnaca states that "The execution of this project concerned the renovation of roads and pedestrian streets in the Urban Center of Larnaca in the context of the integrated Sustainable Urban Development of Larnaca, so that they become accessible to people with disabilities".

The project included the area around the large mosque near the Medieval Castle, Kleanthi Kalogera and Mavroidi streets, Agiou Lazarou street and Armenikis Ekklisias street, Kordiktonos, Vassileos Evagorou street and part of Ermou street.

In addition to paving the streets and sidewalks, the project includes new living areas, tree basins and flower beds, with new urban equipment, flower beds and more.

According to the announcement "The contractor of the project is the Consortium Kedris Construction Ltd & S. Hadjichristofi Construction Ltd Join Venture. The cost of the first phase amounts to € 2.126.199,10 additional VAT. The project can be co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, in the framework of the Operational Program "Competitiveness and Sustainable Development 2014-2020".

It is noted that "at this stage the Municipality of Larnaca is in the study for the XNUMXnd Phase of road renovation which will include the paving of Ermou, Zenonos Kitieos streets with all the vertical roads that connect the shopping center with the coastal front of Finikoudes and renovation of Alki Square and the Acropolis ".
