Tragedy in the United Kingdom with a Cypriot victim, Charalambos Nikolaou, 62, a permanent resident of Cyprus, who was killed in a traffic accident.

The accident happened on December 24 at 11:00pm in the Stoke-on-Trend area. Charalambos Nikolaou had gone to Britain with his 17-year-old daughter to spend Christmas with Cypriot relatives who live in Britain and also to look for a home and a university for the 17-year-old.

The traffic accident happened while Charalambou Nikolaou and his daughter were trying to get into a car in which their related couple was also. A passing vehicle, moving at breakneck speed, hit Nikolaos' vehicle violently, causing it to catch fire.

Charalambos Nikolaou was killed instantly, his daughter was injured and the related couple was critically injured. Seconds earlier, the victim's daughter urged her father to get on the sidewalk because she heard a car approaching at high speed.

According to the first information, the driver of the vehicle that dragged Charalambos to his death was under the influence of alcohol and did not have a driver's license.

Efforts are being made to transport the body to Cyprus.
