The Minister of Justice and Public Order has submitted a request to suspend the guard of the Central Prisons who would supply drugs to a convict.
As stated in an announcement by the Department of Prisons, "on November 13 at 23:55 p.m., YKAN members stopped a prison guard in Nicosia and in his possession were found glues, which after tests carried out by the State Chemistry on November 14, appeared to be impregnated with drugs".
An arrest warrant was issued by the YKAN and following this, the announcement states, a request was submitted by the Minister of Justice and Public Order to the EDY, so that the prison guard in question could be placed immediately available.
