Another actor is accused of a rape case, which reached justice after the "tsunami" of revelations in the context of the Greek #metoo movement.

The prosecutor of the first instance, Costas Spyropoulos, who lifted the weight of the investigations in these cases, which have been in the forefront of the news in recent months, evaluating the elements of the case file, proceeded to criminal prosecution for the crime of rape against the actor. .

The crime is said to have been committed in the year 2020 and the relevant file reached the hands of the prosecutor through the Association of Greek Actors, which transmitted through the president of the Disciplinary Council Paschalis Tsarouchas, as it had an institutional obligation to the judiciary to investigate deep down the serious allegations and leave no shadow over all these cases.

What does he answer?

In the context of the previous investigation, the prosecutor summoned the audited actor to an unprofessional testimony in the capacity of a suspect of committing a criminal act. The actor denied the criminal act attributed to him, claiming that there was the consent of the complainant for what happened, however, the prosecutor, based on all the evidence, prosecuted him and the case was assigned to an investigator, before whom the actor, as a defendant now, will be called to apology, after which his further criminal treatment will be decided.

The first trial
In the meantime, the first trial for the Greek #metoo was determined.

Specifically, on January 12, 2022, in the seat of the Mixed Jury Court of Athens will sit the sailing coach, who has been sentenced to temporary detention for the act of rape against a minor schoolgirl.

It is worth noting that this case was revealed in the context of the prosecutor's investigation that had been opened after the revelations made by the Olympian Sofia Bekatorou, which, as it has been proven, played a decisive role in the decision of many victims to break their silence and claim punishing those responsible for a series of sexual crimes by going to court.

Finally, as it is known, in the next few days the parliaments of the Athens Council of Criminal Procedure are expected, based on which the judges will decide whether or not to refer to a trial for the already imprisoned actors and directors Dimitris Lignadis and Petros Filippidis, for whom have been preceded by referrals by prosecutors.
