Yesterday, the Police arrested two women, aged 42 and 27, in order to facilitate the investigations related to investigated cases of theft from residences. At least two cases of theft from homes for the elderly are being investigated against the two arrested.

The two cases were reported to the Police by an 80-year-old and an 86-year-old resident of Limassol. According to what they reported, on the morning of December 8, 2023, they were visited at their homes by two women unknown to them, who, using various pretexts, managed to trick them and steal money.

Specifically, around 10am. on December 8, two unknown women visited the 80-year-old's home in Limassol and asked her to cut oranges from the orange tree she has in her yard. The complainant gave them permission and went out to her yard to help them. One of the women, pretending to use the toilet of the house, managed to enter the house alone.

A short time later, when the two women left the 80-year-old's home, the complainant realized that her wallet, which contained €70 in cash, credit cards and her personal documents, had been stolen.

The second case was committed on the same day, in the same area of ​​Limassol. As the 86-year-old reported, around 12.30pm, while she was in the living room of her home, two unknown women entered her. After they talked for a while, the complainant went to the kitchen of the house to make coffee for them. A little later, after the two women left the 86-year-old's house, the complainant discovered that her wallet had been stolen from her bag, which was in the living room of the house. Inside the wallet was the sum of €50 and her personal documents.

From the Police examinations, testimony was secured against the 42-year-old and the 27-year-old, on the basis of which judicial arrest warrants were issued against them. The two women were spotted yesterday afternoon in Limassol, arrested and detained to facilitate investigations.
