MEP immediately calls on the EU to intervene vigorously and force Turkey to respect the UN, EU Resolutions. and International Legality.
In his speech, Lefteris Christoforou emphasizes:
"Turkey continues its overt, provocative and illegal actions in occupied Famagusta. Despite repeated EU warnings to Turkey to respect International Law and UN Security Council Resolutions concerning Famagusta and calling on Turkey to return it to its rightful inhabitants, Turkey despises the EU. Ε. and international legality, proceeds to new accomplishments in the closed area of Famagusta.
The occupying regime, in occupied Cyprus, proceeded with the preparation and pre-announcement for the opening of the coastal area of Famagusta.
Turkey showing complete indifference to the EU and International Legality, continues unabated to proceed with new accomplishments to the detriment of the occupied City of Famagusta, grossly violating the decisions of the UN, the EU. and the entire International Community.
I believe that the EU should immediately to intervene and force Turkey to respect EU decisions and European Parliament resolutions, preventing the new accomplishments that Turkey is attempting in the occupied territories.
The EU response must be accompanied by measures and sanctions against Turkey
