The Police in Paphos proceeded with the arrest of a 28-year-old man in order to facilitate investigations for an investigated case of assault against a police officer, drunkenness and causing concern.

According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations, Michalis Nikolaou, on January 18, at 23:50 p.m., members of the Paphos Traffic Police went to Poseidonos Avenue to investigate a traffic collision.

They located the vehicles involved and the driver of one vehicle was a 28-year-old man who was intoxicated. He was tested for alcohol and his blood alcohol level was 74 Mg, while the legal limit is 22 Mg.

During the final check that was carried out, the 28-year-old allegedly hit a member of the Pafos Traffic Police on the chest with his hands.

The 28-year-old was arrested for assaulting a police officer, being drunk and causing a disturbance and was taken into custody.

In addition, the Police in Paphos proceeded to the arrest of a 45-year-old man, in order to facilitate investigations for an investigated case of drunkenness and causing concern.

According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations, Michalis Nikolaou, on January 18 at around 22:50 p.m., a patrol of the Paphos Police Department spotted a 45-year-old person on Spetson Street who was in a state of intoxication and causing concern to the neighbors.

The 45-year-old was arrested and is in custody.
