The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, arrived today in Belgrade, where he begins a two-day official visit.
A press release from the Presidency states that upon his arrival at the Nikola Tesla Airport, he was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivika Datić, while he was honored.
At 3pm (Cyprus time), the official reception of the President of the Republic by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, will take place at the Presidential Palace, in the Serbian capital, and will be followed by a private meeting between them.
Afterwards, an extended meeting of the delegations of the two countries will take place and, subsequently, the two leaders will make statements (at 4.20pm Cyprus time).
The President of the Republic will then go to the National Assembly of Serbia, where he will meet with the President of the Serbian National Assembly Vladimir Oric, and in the evening he will attend a dinner hosted in his honor by the President of Serbia.
Tomorrow, (at 12.30pm Cyprus time) the Cyprus-Serbia Cooperation Council Meeting will take place, with the participation of the Cypriot Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Konstantinos Kobous, Defense, Michalis Giorgallas, Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michailidou, Government Representative Konstantinos Letympiotis, of the Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Office of President Doros Venezis and officials.
The Council will be preceded by bilateral meetings of the Ministers with their Serbian counterparts.
As part of the Summit, Memoranda of Understanding will be signed between the two countries in the field of education, in the fields of science, innovation and advanced technologies, as well as cooperation between the Diplomatic Academies of the two countries.
The Synod will be followed by a working lunch hosted by the Prime Minister of Serbia, Mrs. Ana Brnabic, in honor of the President of the Republic of Cyprus and the delegation accompanying him.
The President of the Republic will also have a meeting with the Serbian Patriarch Porfirio, at the Serbian Patriarchate.
